Social Entrepreneurship has been attempted all over the globe with many succeeding and many failing. Toms, an extraordinary business that has risen among its rank, is one example of a successful social enterprise. Their mission of "One for One" has inspired hundreds of young innovators to start their own businesses that's dedicated in finding solutions for social, cultural or environmental problems. Now these entrepreneurs have arrived in Asia's World City bringing forth the rise of Hong Kong's version of Silicon Valley and no one knows about it. Investors and venture capitalists have not hesitated in donating startup money for these brilliant young minds and incubators are allowing dozens of small companies tackle Hong Kong's urban challenges to bring forth a change Hong Kong has yet to see. But where are these seeds being planted and who are they?

We found an inspiring incubator called Social Venture Hong Kong who's been around since 2007. They have over 20 ventures in their portfolio that aims to invest in sustainable and innovative business solutions. Check out all 20 of their incubated ventures! Some of these enterprises are doing incredible things for the city.

To top it off, Hong Kong has dipped their toes in the pool of Social Entrepreneurship Challenges where different ventures throw pitches at a panel of judges to win some startup money to progress their own startup. Here's Hong Kong's biggest challenge, the Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC), where each member in the two Champion Teams receive a Startup Award up to HKD$60,000 each. Are you a fellow startup looking to jumpstart your venture? Now you know the next competition to start prepping for.

It's also never too late to start attending new conferences, such as the Social Enterprise Summit (SES) where you can join other business men and women who are similarly fascinated in today's innovative ideas for social change. SES has been well-recognized as an international forum for the exchange of experiences and ideas so put your thinking caps on and bring your visions to the world of social entrepreneurship.

Want to know what other cool companies are trying to make the world a better place? As cliché as it sounds, don't fret and check out this site for a list of social enterprises the government knows about.
